More and more people are discovering the benefits of acupuncture for pain relief. But as a comprehensive medical system, it can do so much more. Acupuncture is used for digestive problems, sleep disorders, allergies, colds, and flu, stroke rehabilitation, and many other health concerns. It is also used as a preventative medicine.

Linda Smith, MDLinda M Smith MD

Dr. Linda M. Smith trained as a Family Physician and spent more than 12 years in primary care. In 2000 she herniated a disk in her neck. Disappointed with standard medical options, she turned to acupuncture and osteopathy. She was so impressed with the results that she decided to study them herself and add both modalities to her primary care.

In 2004 Dr. Smith chose to change from primary care to a full-time practice of complementary medicine. Since then, she has moved her practice to Westminster and built an entire team of excellent practitioners offering natural, non-invasive approaches to health and healing.

  • Family Practice Residency, Pennsylvania State University at Hershey Medical Center
  • Practiced as primary care physician from 1990-2004, first in PA, then in Gardner and Ashburnham
  • Acupuncture Training, Harvard Medical School, 2002-2003
  • Osteopathic Training, University of New England (ongoing)
  • Member of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture
  • Owner and Operator of Dr. Smith and Associates, 1997 to present

 

Wendy Lehnert, LicAcWendy Lehnert LicAc

Wendy Lehnert completed her Master of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at The New England School of Acupuncture, where she studied Chinese acupuncture, Japanese acupuncture, and Chinese herbal medicine. She is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine to practice acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Wendy has practiced at Dr. Smith and Associates in Westminster since 2008.

Wendy also holds an M.A. in Mathematics from Yeshiva University and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Yale University. Before pursuing a career in traditional Chinese medicine, Dr. Lehnert was a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where she conducted research in artificial intelligence and cognitive modeling.
